Sara Cruz is a senior director in APCO Worldwide’s London office specializing in corporate communications and health care. She has spent over 25 years in PR consultancy developing and delivering corporate, trade and consumer campaigns on behalf of a broad range of organizations across the private and public sectors.
Ms. Cruz has particular experience of advising clients on the development of integrated stakeholder communications campaigns, corporate and B2B programs, thought leadership, communication audits and issues and crisis management including litigation communications. Key clients represented include Chiltern Railways, DHL, Dunnhumby, Dow Plastics, GE, HSE (Health & Safety Executive), ICI Polyurethanes, Innovate UK, Ipsos MORI, J&J, MasterCard, Oral-B, Unilever and Visa.
Ms. Cruz has extensive experience working in the health care sector for both med tech companies and the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. She currently leads a pan-European communication programme on behalf of specialist gene therapy company bluebird bio, and advises two operating companies in the Danaher portfolio on thought leadership strategy. Other recent experience includes a campaign to raise awareness of incontinence as a condition affecting many segments of the community, not just the elderly, on behalf of Essity; a project on behalf of Biogen on the topic of spinal muscular atrophy and an ongoing programme on behalf of GE Healthcare to help the company position itself as a leader in the early diagnosis of diseases – particularly cancer and neurodegenerative conditions.
Ms. Cruz holds a bachelor’s degree (Hons) in Modern Languages (French and Spanish) from the University of Durham.
