Mary Foerster is a member of APCO’s Corporate Communication Strategies Board, a specialty group within the firm’s International Advisory Council that’s composed for former corporate CEOs, heads of global corporate communications at major companies and CEOs of major public relations firms, collectively representing a diverse range of industry perspectives.

Ms. Foerster is the former Vice President of Communications and Marketing for Boeing Commercial Airplanes. In this position she was responsible for developing and implementing strategies for all public relations, marketing, advertising and sponsorship activities, and ensuring functional excellence in domestic and international communications for employees, and with governments, commercial customers, partners and suppliers, shareholders and other key audiences.

Prior to joining The Boeing Company in 1997 as Director of Public Relations and Advertising, Ms. Foerster was a senior executive at two worldwide public relations agencies, Hill and Knowlton and Burson-Marsteller, where she had management responsibilities in major markets, including Washington, D.C., Frankfurt and London. At Burson-Marsteller she established operations in Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic hiring and training local employees, and developed communications strategies for western companies acquiring or establishing local companies. In addition to her management experience, she has also been involved in strategic communications planning for major global corporations including GE, Philip Morris, Ford, Toyota, and NEC and has represented governments and international trade associations in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Foerster holds a bachelor’s degree from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, and received her master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
