Heather McGeory Tapped to Lead Climate & Sustainability Work for APCO Impact

Washington – April 29, 2021: Heather McGeory, an expert in climate change and sustainability issues with more than 20 years of experience working with businesses, investors, governments, non-profits and multilateral institutions, joined APCO Worldwide as global lead, Climate and Sustainability, Founder and Executive Chairman Margery Kraus announced today.

“I’m very excited to welcome Heather to oversee APCO’s climate work through APCO Impact—the company’s global nerve center, supporting and accelerating our work on sustainability and social impact,” Kraus said. “With a proven track record of creating successful projects and partnerships across public and private sectors, Heather’s insight and expertise will help clients plan and achieve their strategic climate and sustainability strategies.”

As one of the first agencies to have a Sustainable Growth & Corporate Purpose practice, APCO has evolved with the changing world, continuously developing its social impact and sustainability capabilities to better serve its clients. Prior to joining APCO, McGeory served as the chief operating officer of the We Mean Business coalition and was instrumental in building the organization from 2015-2021. We Mean Business is a global nonprofit driving the world’s most influential companies to Net Zero by 2040. She was an early advocate of the Science Based Targets Initiative, the Science Based Targets Network and the Climate Pledge. She previously worked in environmental finance at Natsource Asset Management and was a faculty research fellow at NASA and an Aspen Institute fellow at the Albright Stonebridge Group.
