APCO Worldwide Partners With George Floyd Memorial Foundation to Ensure Longevity of its Impact and Legacy

Washington – April 13, 2021: The George Floyd Memorial Foundation has partnered with APCO Worldwide, through which APCO will provide critical services to the Foundation that will help it achieve its goal of creating programs that accelerate solutions to equity and justice. The Foundation will focus on long-term results and will engage officials at the state and federal levels, advocating programs that support the legacy of the organization, APCO Founder and Executive Chairman Margery Kraus announced today.

Elle Arlook—APCO’s advisor for equity and justice and one of the leads on this partnership—added, “we are humbled by the chance to support the Foundation and the Floyd family as they continue his legacy and supporting the things that he loved to do for the community.”

The George Floyd Memorial Foundation is committed to amplifying George Floyd’s story through organized community outreach, targeted educational programs and intentional reform initiatives. The Foundation will focus on accelerating solutions that challenge undue violence, socioeconomic inequality and criminalization of poverty—leading up to and beyond the one-year remembrance of George Floyd’s death on May 25.

“The issues of mass incarceration and the school-to-prison pipeline, coupled with the nationwide protests over the deaths of unarmed young people of color, provide an unprecedented opportunity for criminal and racial justice reform,” stated Jacari Harris, executive director of the Foundation. “We’re thrilled to partner with APCO on our work to activate invested communities, address the root causes of inequity and combat the institutional violence affecting Black Americans.”
