APCO to Help Corporations Adapt to Historic Disruption With New Hire

January 8, 2019

Washington – December 6, 2017: Jason Meyer, a digital communications and brand strategy expert, has rejoined APCO Worldwide, announced Evan Kraus, global president and managing director of APCO’s Washington office. Meyer returns to APCO as a director after spending two years with Marriott International.

“Today, brands face unprecedented expectations from society,” said Kraus. “At APCO, we’re committed partners that have a deep understanding of this challenging environment and the mindset to navigate difficult issues. Jason’s expertise in branding, digital communications and employee engagement matches that profile and strengthens our team. We’re delighted to welcome him back to APCO.”

In his most recent role as a senior brand manager for Marriott International, Meyer developed and implemented the hospitality giant’s global digital strategy to identify, engage and retain talent and supported its employee engagement strategy. He also oversaw the development of an artificial intelligence technology to directly engage job seekers across the world and drove the content and distribution strategy for Marriott’s global email marketing campaigns to enhance talent acquisition.

APCO’s research indicates that employees are the greatest untapped opportunity for companies to improve their overall brand perception and adapt to disruption. Meyer’s addition enhances the firm’s capacity to help corporations tap into this resource, as seen through APCO’s digitally-infused Inside Out employee engagement offer, which positions digital tools at the core of strategies to help brands inspire employee advocacy and foster trustworthy word of mouth support.

Prior to joining Marriott, Meyer spent nearly six years with APCO as a leading digital and brand strategist in the firm’s Washington office. He worked across several of APCO’s prominent client accounts, and played a major role in the firm’s successful support of the United Nations Foundation’s Shot@Life campaign.

“I’m very excited to have the opportunity to return to APCO,” said Meyer. “The leadership caliber and vision of the team in D.C. created the environment in which my return makes sense. I look forward to adding to the firm’s collective expertise and helping brands navigate and thrive in today’s complex global business environment.”

A communications industry veteran, Meyer previously worked for Ogilvy Public Relations, Edelman and Becker Communications before first joining APCO in 2010.

Meyer holds a bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University and master’s degree from The George Washington University.

He joins a distinguished team of branding and employee engagement experts at APCO including Joanna London, Howard Pulchin, Nicholas Ashooh, Barie Carmichael, and recent additions, Jim Moorhead and Harlan Teller.
