APCO Expands MENA Presence to Saudi Arabia

January 8, 2019

Washington, D.C. – May 9, 2018: APCO Worldwide is expanding its strong presence in MENA, with offices in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, by opening an office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia announced APCO CEO, Brad Staples.

“We have seen tremendous growth throughout the MENA region and a considerable increase in assignments from Saudi Arabia over the last year,” said Staples. “Our office in Riyadh, anchoring teams throughout Saudi Arabia, is the next step in our regional development plan. We are expanding in Saudi as the Kingdom goes through a period of unprecedented change. We are excited to see what comes next for APCO in Saudi, for our clients there and for the country.”

APCO’s new presence in Saudi Arabia comes during an exciting year for the firm. From an injection of new investment and a reassertion of independence last summer, to new additional offices in Germany and Italy and the addition of global talent in key positions, APCO’s new Saudi presence will help ensure further expansion.

“APCO’s growth into new markets has always been driven by opportunity and the right mix of local staff and global understanding to excel in the market,” said APCO founder and executive chairman, Margery Kraus. “Saudi Arabia is changing rapidly and, based on the great work of our team to date, we are excited by the opportunities in the market and believe our services will be helpful in the incredible transformation that is taking place as a result of Vision 2030.”

APCO is assigning one of its most seasoned and experienced professionals to Saudi. Liam D. Clarke, a 15-year APCO veteran and expert in large-scale communication campaigns, management consultancy and corporate sustainability, will be the office’s first managing director.

“It’s a real honor to help open this office and grow our work in this critical and exciting region,” said Clarke. “We have an impressive team here that is delivering for clients already and is ready to take on new opportunities. I look forward to working with my colleagues globally to grow within Saudi Arabia and leverage our innovation and ingenuity across the network.”

APCO’s Saudi team will feature full digital, media, creative and high-level business and management consulting capabilities. The office will work in close partnership with other offices throughout MENA and APCO’s global network.

“This is an undeniably exciting time for APCO and for Saudi Arabia,” said Mamoon Sbeih, president of MENA for APCO Worldwide. “Working in and with a nation undergoing massive positive change presents an opportunity every day for our staff to make an impact on the lives of people and the future of a country and a region. We are proud to be here and excited about what we will do together here.”

APCO’s Saudi office, led by Clarke, is supported by a number of senior leaders and specialists. They include: Mamoon Sbeih; Elizabeth Sen, chief client officer, MENA; Muhannad Al Badri, managing director, Abu Dhabi; Samer El Hachem, head of project management in the region; Nicholas Labuschagne, senior strategy director and Imad Lahad, global co-head of digital for APCO.
