APCO Expands Crisis Practice, Names Eliot Hoff as Global Lead

Washington, D.C. – August 20, 2018: APCO has appointed Eliot Hoff, a recognized crisis communication and preparedness expert, as global practice leader of APCO’s Crisis and Litigation Communication Practice, announced Brad Staples, CEO of APCO Worldwide.

For more than a decade, Eliot has been tested as a leader in helping APCO clients prepare for and overcome crises and protect business value,” said Staples. “We’re thrilled to have him take on a global leadership role to lead this work for clients around the world.”

Hoff joined APCO in 2005 as one of the founding members of its New York City office. During his time, Hoff led crisis communications efforts for clients, serving as a direct advisor to members of the c-suite during crisis and corporate transition situations.

Hoff has been a pioneer in the development of new, cutting edge crisis practices including the application of data and research as predictive tools in crisis anticipation and avoidance. Hoff has also worked with corporate leaders to help understand and assess their company’s social footprint to look for inherent risks and emerging positioning opportunities. Due to this expertise, APCO serves as the crisis agency of record for a wide group of global multinationals, with Hoff often at the helm of those assignments.

In addition to being appointed the lead of APCO’s Crisis and Litigation Communication Practice, Hoff will join APCO’s Global Leadership Team, which guides strategy and global decisions for the firm.

Hoff will lead a global group of crisis and litigation communication experts including Robert Ardelt, Kelly Stepno and Jim Moorhead.
