Niko Stemple


Niko Stemple, director in APCO Worldwide’s Washington, D.C., office, provides counsel to clients on communications opportunities in health care public policy and advocacy, particularly as it relates to pharmaceuticals. Her portfolio of experience includes 15 years in government, trade and nonprofit organizations.

Ms. Stemple’s coalition experience includes the Alliance for Safe Biologic Medicines, an organization composed of patient, physician and pharmaceutical related entities working toward ensuring patient safety in the biosimilars policy discussion. She also served as the federal affairs chair to the Together Rx Access pharmaceutical discount card program. In that role, she led a team of member company representatives highlighting the benefits of the program to legislators nation-wide.

From 2001- 2008, Ms. Stemple worked for the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) federal affairs division. There she was charged with outreach to the U.S. Congress. Drawing upon her experience as a former Congressional staffer, she initiated a variety of programs furthering opportunities to communicate with members, their staff and constituency on a range of topics including the value of medicines to patients and the health care system, and the Medicare Part D prescription drug benefit. For her contributions at PhRMA, she received their President’s Collaborative Excellence Award for cross-divisional teamwork.

Ms. Stemple graduated magna cum laude from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania’s Honors Program with a Bachelor of Science in public administration and a minor in political science.
