Global Technology Practice Lead

Michael Ann Thomas leads APCO’s global Technology practice. In this role she partners with traditional enterprises that are re-architecting their infrastructure and implementing new information technology systems in order to compete in today’s market. She also services traditional technology and emerging technology brands – from Microsoft and CDW to Chef and UIEvolution.

She is well versed across major technology sectors including infrastructure, applications and cloud services – and also understands evolving software development and delivery practices. Ms. Thomas partners with businesses vying for leadership as new macro technology themes, such as web-scale, big data, container 2.0, the Internet of Things, agile architecture, distributed development and post mobile, to name a few, disrupt the status quo and create new standards for consumers and businesses.

Ms. Thomas also specializes in digital healthcare and health information technology and has serviced businesses spanning the payer, provider and patient paradigm. She has worked with clients specializing in SaaS-based platforms for clinical development, health insurance shopping and enrollment and health systems’ patient orders and referrals. She has also represented companies specializing in electronic health records, population health and care coordination, clinical decision support and analytics, pharmacy automation, health information exchange, personal health records, telemedicine, revenue cycle management, and electronic data interchange (EDI) software applications that support administrative simplification and the automation of ICD-10 and HIPAA 5010 requirements.

Michael Thomas is on the Board of Directors for the Hacking Medicine Institute, an organization born out of MIT’s Hacking Medicine Program and works very closely with venture firms and technology incubators nationally.
