Leading Director from Policy Exchange Joins APCOConservative Party Expert Strengthens Public Affairs OfferLondon (May 27, 2008) – Dr Steven King, external relations director at Policy Exchange, the influential centre-right think tank, joined APCO Worldwide as associate director in the London office, Managing Director Darren Murphy, announced today. He was the Ulster Unionist party negotiator on equality, human rights and cultural issues in the multi-party talks leading to the Good Friday Agreement. At Stormont, he was responsible for political communication strategies, party management issues and drafting position papers. He was also Lord Trimble’s main speechwriter. Before joining Policy Exchange, King was responsible for managing the reputational issues from the Office of Fair Trading inquiry into alleged fee-fixing for the Independent Schools Council. King’s perspective will complement the strong public affairs team at APCO, including: Razi Rahman, former political advisor to Tony Blair; and Matt Browne, former head of Policy Network, the progressive think tank founded by Bill Clinton and others.
