APCO Worldwide :: Razi Rahman

Razi Rahman

Razi Rahman, director in APCO Worldwide’s London office, provides clients with expertise in government relations and offers insight into decision-making at the highest levels of government.

Before joining APCO, Mr. Rahman was responsible for advising Prime Minister Blair on political, policy, legislative and Labour Party matters for seven years, working as the prime minister’s assistant political secretary in the Political Office at 10 Downing Street. In this role, he gained extensive experience in government, the parliamentary process, issue management and political communication; and was closely involved in delivering stakeholder and third-party engagement strategies. Mr. Rahman also served as the prime minister’s principal adviser on community relations and was instrumental in delivering government-wide plans on community and ethnic media engagement.

Prior to working at 10 Downing Street, Mr. Rahman was a qualified solicitor. His experience included working in the litigation group at media law firm Harbottle & Lewis, and as a lawyer in Slaughter and May’s Corporate, commercial and financing practice.

Mr. Rahman graduated with honours in 1993 with a Bachelor of Social Science in Economics and Political Science from the University of Birmingham.
