Jon Chandler, director of corporate communication in APCO Worldwide’s Europe, Middle East and
Africa (EMEA) region, provides clients with strategic advice on critical issues and communication
challenges.
Prior to joining APCO, Mr. Chandler was regional public affairs and communication director for
Coca-Cola in Europe. He was responsible for all aspects of public affairs and communication
strategy and its implementations across Europe and the Middle East, including lobbying, media
relations, integrated marketing communication, corporate social responsibility, incident
management and internal communication. The lead spokesperson for Coca-Cola in Europe, Mr. Chandler
served as advisor to corporate management on European media and public affairs issues including
health and wellness, anti-trust, labour relations and environment. He led integrated communication
programmes for pan-European brand experiences for music and sport, including the World Cup and
Olympics, and executed major product launches.
Prior to this position, Mr. Chandler served as corporate communication and public affairs director
for Eastman Kodak, EMEA. He led public affairs projects for the region; provided counsel and
coaching to the executive team; acted as the lead spokesperson for the company; re-established the
corporate citizenship program with emphasis on education and health; and re-established and
developed the public affairs operation in Brussels. Mr. Chandler also held positions in the
automotive, aerospace and airline industries with LucasVarity plc as corporate relations manager,
Perkins Groups as communications director Lucas Industries as communications manager and British
Airways as Public Affairs Manager.
He began his career in newspaper journalism, writing for British regional newspapers and the Daily
and Sunday Mirror.
