APCO’s UK Office Partners with The Connection at St Martin’s, a Charity for Homeless PeopleLondon (May 10, 2007) – APCO Worldwide’s London office is partnering with The Connection at St Martin’s, a charity which provides services for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, Simon Miller, Managing Director of APCO’s London office, announced today. The Connection at St Martin’s provides a day centre, a night centre, resettlement services, advice and support, as well as training and vocational guidance, in the Covent Garden area where APCO’s office is located. It helps 6,500 individuals every year to rebuild their lives away from the streets. APCO’s London office works with the charity providing pro-bono consultancy services, volunteering at the drop-in café and arranging educational social activities with the city’s homeless. APCO allows its staff to engage in these activities during company time on an individual, voluntary basis. “This initiative is the result of a desire by APCO staff to engage with an organisation of relevance to our office in Long Acre, Covent Garden. APCO sees this initiative as long-term and part of an active involvement in the community in which we work. We are practising what we preach and also ensuring that we are an employer of which the staff can be proud” said Martin Sawer, Senior Consultant.
