Former Unilever Executive to Head APCO’s Moscow Office
Moscow (April 17, 2008) – Denis Gurinovich, former Unilever corporate communications director for Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, joins APCO Worldwide as managing director of the Moscow office, Brad Staples, CEO of APCO’s Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) region, announced today.

A former newspaper, television and radio journalist, Gurinovich has more than 10 years of experience in the communication arena and is well-versed in the Russia, CIS Region. He brings to APCO a wealth of experience in managing government relations, media relations, crisis management and complete communication strategies, including intellectual property protection and corporate responsibility.

As Unilever’s national corporate communications director for Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, Gurinovich acted as the company spokesperson while supervising the department. He built a strong positive corporate image for the company in the CIS countries by effectively developing and implementing strategies for the company’s corporate, external and media relations.
Prior to his work at Unilever, he held a similar position at Tetra Pak Russia where he was the head of corporate communications and environment. Before this, he transferred from Minsk to Moscow and transitioned from a local marketing manager function to a corporate and regulatory affairs post within the British American Tobacco Company. Gurinovich worked in the advertising business as account director for McCann Erickson in Belarus. Of Belarusian origin, he is fluent in Russian, Belarussian, English and has a working knowledge of Polish.
