Corporate Communications Expert Joins APCO Worldwide's International Advisory Council

Washington (September 17, 2015) – Denise Hill, an assistant professor in Elon University’s School of Communications and the former vice president of communications at Delhaize America, joined APCO Worldwide’s International Advisory Council (IAC) today. She brings her extensive expertise to APCO’s clients through its Corporate Communication Strategies (CCS), a sub-group of the IAC.

APCO’s CCS is a specialty group within its IAC that provides top-tier guidance to clients facing communications challenges. It is composed of former corporate CEOs, heads of global corporate communications at major companies, CEOs of major public relations firms and leading academics dedicated to the field of public relations and marketing.

With more than 30 years of corporate communications and public relations experience, Hill specializes in strategic communication, organizational communication, change management and community relations. She previously held vice president of communications roles at Delhaize America, Quest Diagnostics, Novartis Pharmaceuticals and Cigna. Hill also served as senior vice president of communications at Wyndham Exchange and Rentals.

Before joining Elon University in 2014, Hill spent four years as an adjunct instructor of corporate communications and public relations at New York University. Her academic research has been featured by a number of industry associations, such as the American Journalism Historians Association and the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC). She is also a member of the Arthur W. Page Society.
