Usha Harikrishnan
Usha Harikrishnan, associate director in APCO Worldwide’s New Delhi office, has more than seven years of experience in public affairs, coordinating, networking and liaising between the government, industry and other industry associations for new opportunities in policy and steering policy initiatives.
Ms. Harikrishnan assists clients in the areas of opinion research and corporate responsibility. Her work also includes interacting with premier industry associations and government bodies.
Prior to joining APCO, Ms. Harikrishnan was the deputy director at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) where she designed methodologies for effective implementation of policy and identified new areas of policy coordination. She also conducted policy and action research in order to transfer lessons from grassroots to policy change.
In her career at the CII, Ms. Harikrishnan worked extensively in a range of industry sectors including telecommunications, textiles, home appliances and fluid power. She was responsible for understanding the issues of these industries as affected by the policies of the government, and was also responsible in presenting the view of the industries to the government. In addition, Ms. Harikrishnan helped organize a number of national and international meetings, seminars, conference, workshops and delegations to analyze and understand the sectoral issues of national and international importance. She also has been driving the corporate responsibility activities for various industries through forums like Young Indians & Family Business Network.
Ms. Harikrishnan is also a member of the Public Affairs forum in India.
Ms. Harikrishnan holds a post graduate degree in business management from University of Bangalore, Karnataka, India. She is fluent in the indian languages of Hindi, Tamil and Kannada.
