Roger Bolton

Roger Bolton is the former senior vice president of communications for the health care benefits provider Aetna. He was responsible for media relations, public affairs, internal and executive communication, advertising, brand management and corporate public involvement.

Mr. Bolton served on a number of boards with Aetna and chaired Aetna’s Council for Organizational Effectiveness, which is responsible for helping the company achieve high performance through culture change. He was a member of the board of the Aetna Foundation, the Aetna Political Action Committee and the Aetna Public Policy Committee. He is also the immediate past president, trustee and member of the executive committee of the Arthur W. Page Society, the premier membership organization for corporate chief communication officers. He currently co-chairs the Page Society’s Authentic Enterprise Task Force, which is working to help global companies understand how to protect their brands and reputations in a rapidly changing global operating environment.

Before joining Aetna in 1995, Mr. Bolton was director of corporate media relations at IBM and assistant secretary of the Treasury for public affairs in the George H.W. Bush administration. He was also the director of speechwriting for the Reagan-Bush re-election campaign and served as an assistant U.S. trade representative for public affairs in the Executive Office of the President. In addition, he was a special assistant to President Reagan, with responsibility for the president’s relations with American businesses.
