Margery Kraus Named a Top Woman Business Builder by Fast Company Magazine
Washington, D.C. (May 4, 2005) – Fast Company, a leading U.S. business publication, has named Margery Kraus, president and CEO of global communication consultancy APCO Worldwide to its list of the “25 Top Women Business Builders.”
Highlighted in the May 2005 issue, the magazine cited Kraus’ pioneering role as one of the consulting industry’s first female chief executives and her recent completion of a management buyout from parent company Grey Global Group Inc. as the reasons for inclusion on the list of distinguished women business builders. As a result of the buyout, APCO is now one of the largest privately owned international communication and public affairs firms, and is widely recognized for its employee-focused culture and dedication to attracting and retaining the best talent in the industry.
“I am extremely honored to be included among a group of such extraordinary female professionals and hope our stories will serve as inspiration to future female entrepreneurs,” said Kraus. “This recognition is a direct result of the truly outstanding dedication of the staff at APCO over the years.”
Being named one of the “25 Top Women Business Builders” is not the only recognition for Kraus this year. In March, she was named Public Relations Professional of the Year by PR Week, a public relations industry publication.
In 2004, APCO celebrated its 20th year in business and experienced a growth rate of 24 percent. APCO has 365 employees worldwide and revenue of $58 million.
