APCO Appoints New Head of Shanghai Office

Washington, D.C. (August 3, 2004) - Murray King, a longtime Canadian diplomat with legal and commercial expertise, was appointed chief representative of APCO's growing Shanghai office, Richard Burn, APCO Asia chief executive officer announced today.

"Murray brings significant depth and experience to our China team particularly in investment consulting and positioning in the Chinese market. Our clients require innovative solutions and practical advice, and under Murray's leadership we are confident that our Shanghai team will continue to deliver premium service," said Burn.

King, who previously served as commercial consul at the Canadian Consulate General in Shanghai, helped many leading Canadian corporations invest in China. His industry experience spans a number of sectors including transportation, information and communications technology, and manufacturing. "Now he will turn that experience to the advantage of APCO China's clients, which include many of the world's foremost companies, foreign governments and non-profit organizations," added Burn.

Murray King holds a bachelor of arts and a bachelor of laws (Common Law) from the University of Ottawa. He articled in Toronto at Blake Cassels & Graydon, was called to the Ontario Bar in 1992 and practiced as an associate lawyer at Daniel Fine & Associates in North York, Ontario until 1996.
