“Jennifer has a finely honed understanding of complex communication challenges,” said Schooling. “Our clients will benefit from her intimate knowledge of government and her proven ability to manage sensitive issues.”
Dyck will help clients communicate effectively through government relations, international positioning, coalition building, media relations and issue management. She joins a team of communication leaders and former members of Congress – Democrats and Republicans – who are positioned to address the challenges presented by divided government including: former U.S. Senator Don Riegle of Michigan; former U.S. Representatives Don Bonker of Washington, Steve Solarz of New York and Dick Swett of New Hampshire; Jane Garvey, former head of the Federal Aviation Administration; B. Jay Cooper, former deputy White House press secretary and deputy assistant to the president under Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush; Scott Milburn, former White House Office of Management and Budget press secretary; and Alisa Harrison, former director of communications and press secretary at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
“APCO is proud of the global business we have built, and we will continue to expand on our Washington roots,” said Schooling. “Jennifer is a great addition to our team and she strengthens our ability to reach policy makers on both sides of the aisle.”
At the CIA, Dyck primarily focused on media and strategic communication, but also oversaw internal communication, speechwriting, agency publications, the CIA’s public Web site and intranet, and liaison work with the publication and film industries. Dyck initiated the agency’s first coordinated corporate branding strategy.
“I am extremely impressed with the APCO team’s depth and breadth of experience and mastery of the diverse array of issues that dominate the industry,” said Dyck. “Since joining APCO, I have already witnessed how this company helps clients overcome long odds and achieve results.”
Dyck’s background includes broad experience in fast-paced political communication. As deputy communications director for Bush-Cheney `04, she managed the regional press operation, covering 17 target states. Dyck regularly represented the Bush-Cheney campaign in television and radio debates and appearances. Previously, Dyck served as Vice President Dick Cheney’s principle spokesman and crafted communication strategies in support of his international and domestic initiatives. During the first 10 months of the Bush Administration, Dyck was White House assistant press secretary, acting as one of President George W. Bush’s spokesmen.
Before joining the Bush Administration, Dyck served as a regional press coordinator for the Republican National Committee’s Victory 2000. Prior to the campaign, Dyck was the press secretary for Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, Rep.
