APCO Welcomes AmChamSpain Chairman To International Advisory Council
Washington, D.C. (May 17, 2012) – Jaime Malet, chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Spain (AmChamSpain), joins APCO Worldwide as a member of the company's International Advisory Council (IAC), Founder and CEO Margery Kraus announced today. Malet will provide strategic counsel to Spanish companies expanding overseas and international companies conducting business in Spain.

Malet has served as chairman of AmchamSpain for nearly a decade, where he is responsible for supervising the organization of more than 350 leading companies. AmChamSpain membership consists of a majority of U.S. companies with a presence in Spain and many Spanish companies with a presence in the United States. In this role, he works to improve the business climate and strengthen commercial relations between the two countries. He is also responsible for attracting and retaining Spanish investment in the United States and protecting the interests of American companies in Spain.

After years of practicing law, Malet currently serves as president of TELAM, a consulting firm that specializes in business opportunities and strategic and lobbying advice to large multinationals and investment funds in infrastructure projects, energy, information technology, health and finance. He is also a member of the board of advisors of the Spanish Confederation of Employers' Organizations, a patron of the U.S.-Spain Council and a member of the Corporate Governance Institute in Brussels.
