Leslie Norwalk, Former Acting CMS Administrator, Joins APCO Worldwide's International Advisory Council; Adds to Company's Health Policy Expertise
Washington, D.C. (November 10, 2010) - Leslie V. Norwalk, former acting administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), joins APCO Worldwide's International Advisory Council (IAC), APCO Founder and CEO Margery Kraus announced today.

As acting CMS administrator, Norwalk was responsible for managing the daily operations of Medicare, Medicaid, state child health insurance programs, the survey and certification of health care facilities and other federal health care initiatives. She previously served as the agency's deputy administrator, where she was responsible for the implementation of hundreds of changes made under the Medicare Modernization Act, including the Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit.
Prior to her positions with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Norwalk practiced law in the Washington, D.C., office of Epstein Becker & Green, P.C., where she advised clients on a variety of health policy matters. She also served in the first Bush administration in the White House Office of Presidential Personnel and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.
Norwalk currently serves as an advisor to three private equity firms - Warburg Pincus, Ferrer Freeman & Company, and Enhanced Equity Fund - and sits on the boards of directors of Broadlane, Sound Physicians, Guardian Healthcare, Ika Systems, Sante Pediatric Rehabilitation, and InHealth Institute for Health Technology Studies. Additionally, she provides strategic counsel to Epstein Becker & Green, P.C.; EBG Advisors; and National Health Advisors; and is a principal in Norwalk & Associates.
