APCO Adds Trade, Transportation Expertise to International Advisory Council
J. Joseph Grandmaison, Former U.S. Export-Import Bank Executive, Joins Group
Washington, D.C. (September 9, 2010) – J. Joseph Grandmaison, former member of the board of directors of the U.S. Export-Import Bank and head of the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (TDA), joins APCO Worldwide's International Advisory Council (IAC) , Founder and CEO Margery Kraus announced today.
"Throughout his esteemed career, Joe has cultivated tremendous expertise in international trade and finance through high-level positions in both the public and private sector," said Kraus. At the Export-Import Bank, Grandmaison coordinated the bank's business development initiatives in sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to his role with the bank, Grandmaison served in the Clinton Administration as director of TDA, where he managed the investment and subsequent implementation of more than $425 million in more than 1,300 overseas projects specifically designed to involve U.S. companies, from small- and medium-sized businesses to Fortune 500 enterprises.
Earlier in his career, Grandmaison was managing director of international development for Don Breazeale and Associates, a West Coast-based transportation consulting company that specializes in port, rail and freight operations. He also served as federal co-chairman of the New England Regional Commission.
Grandmaison was an adjunct professor in the College of Communications at Boston University and a host of public affairs television programs in Boston and New Hampshire. Active in public affairs in his home state of New Hampshire, he was the Democratic Party nominee for governor in 1990.
Grandmaison joins a dynamic group of more than 50 recognized global leaders on the IAC, including: Don Bonker, former U.S. congressman and former chairman of the House Subcommittee on International Economic Policy and Trade; J. Norwell Coquillard, former chairman and president of Cargill Investment (China) Limited, the operating company for Cargill Incorporated of the United States in China; Carlos Gutierrez, former U.S. secretary of commerce and former CEO of the Kellogg Company; and Eugene K. Lawson, former head of the U.S.-Russia Business Council and former deputy assistant secretary of commerce for East-West trade.
