APCO Adds To Corporate Communication Expertise

Washington, D.C. (January 6, 2010) – Jake Sargent, formerly with the Brunswick Group, joins APCO Worldwide as a vice president, Robert Schooling, managing director of APCO’s Washington, D.C., office, announced today.

“Jake brings to APCO ample experience working with a variety of high-profile clients on large-scale communication projects, providing counsel on media relations and public affairs strategies,” said Schooling. “Our clients will gain tremendously from his corporate communication expertise.”

At the Brunswick Group, Sargent managed a range of strategic communication responsibilities, advising clients on media messages, offering public affairs counsel and developing innovative outreach programs.

Prior to the Brunswick Group, Sargent served as the deputy communications director for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Rules. He was also a speechwriter for California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and a special assistant for communications for the state of California’s Business, Transportation and Housing Agency.

Sargent began his career as an assistant vice president at Gannett Welsh & Kotler, where he opened the Boston-based investment company’s office in San Francisco.
