Media Relations Specialist Strengthens APCO's New York Team

New York (December 7, 2010) - Caroline Wolter Starke, an experienced communication counselor and media relations specialist, joins APCO Worldwide as a New York-based vice president, Nelson Fernandez, managing director of the company's New York office, announced today.

"Caroline's impressive communication background encompasses valuable knowledge in corporate reputation building, issues management, consumer media campaigns and media relations," said Fernandez. "She also brings strong health care and financial services expertise, which will significantly enhance our ability to service clients in these sectors."

Prior to joining APCO, Starke specialized in corporate reputation building and issues management at Robinson Lerer & Montgomery Strategic Communications, where she helped build and improve public reputations for companies across a number of industries facing perception challenges.

Starke previously managed consumer media campaigns at Edelman Worldwide and served in Burson-Marsteller's corporate/financial practice. In addition, Starke managed both internal and external communication in the Americas for international investment bank Dresdner Kleinwort. She began her career at Kaplow Communications, a New York boutique firm specializing in consumer, beauty, e-commerce and technology public relations.
