APCO CEO Named to Enterprising Women Hall of Fame

Washington, D.C. (March 9, 2009) – Margery Kraus, president and chief executive officer of APCO Worldwide, will be inducted into the Enterprising Women Hall of Fame on March 12 in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

“I am honored to receive this award, which I believe illustrates the entrepreneurial spirit that exists throughout APCO,” said Kraus. “The award is especially meaningful given that APCO is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. I am so proud of our staff’s ongoing commitment to our clients and innovative approach to our business.”

Kraus founded APCO in 1984, and the company has since grown from one Washington office to a multinational consulting firm with nearly 600 practitioners in 29 offices throughout the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. The firm provides high-end strategic counsel in corporate communication and public affairs and offers an integrated approach to addressing clients’ challenges and opportunities.

The Hall of Fame was instituted by Enterprising Women magazine in 2002 to recognize women with a lifetime of achievement in growing and leading businesses or nonprofit organizations.

“We are very pleased to recognize Margery and her inspiring story of entrepreneurship,” said Monica Smiley, publisher and chief executive officer of Enterprising Women magazine. “She’s a trail-blazing businesswoman who has established APCO as a top firm with a strong reputation, and we are happy to have her among this group of leaders in our Hall of Fame.”

The Enterprising Women Hall of Fame boasts 26 additional members.
