Energy, Financial Services Strategist Joins APCO’s D.C. Office

Washington, D.C. (February 3, 2009) – Anne Womack Kolton, former director of public affairs at the U.S. Department of Energy, joins APCO Worldwide as a vice president, Robert Schooling, managing director of APCO’s D.C. office, announced today.

Kolton was a director at the Brunswick Group, where she worked with global corporate clients on public affairs issues, political risk management, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to that, she served as the director of public affairs at the U.S. Department of Energy, where she oversaw communication strategies for the federal government’s energy policies and initiatives. She also served as director of public affairs at the Department of the Treasury and senior advisor to Chairman William H. Donaldson at the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Kolton joined the Bush administration as assistant press secretary in the White House press office after serving on the Bush campaign in the press operation. Before joining the campaign, Kolton was the Washington liaison for Texas Attorney General John Cornyn.
