Top Security Expert Joins APCO’s International Advisory Council

Washington, D.C. (September 15, 2008) – Doron Bergerbest-Eilon, founder, president and chief executive officer of comprehensive security consulting firm ASERO Worldwide, joined APCO Worldwide’s International Advisory Council (IAC), President and CEO Margery Kraus announced today.

“Matters of security continue to generate awareness and concern within the global marketplace,” said Kraus. “Given Doron’s extensive security and risk-management experience, he will make an invaluable contribution to our IAC by helping our clients develop strategic plans for their security preparedness efforts.”

Bergerbest-Eilon is the former head of the protection and security division and the most senior-ranking security official of the Israeli Security Agency (ISA), a position equivalent to the rank of major general. His responsibilities consisted of the protection and security of Israeli dignitaries; Israeli official delegations traveling abroad; domestic and international Israeli civil aviation and foreign civil aviation in the State of Israel; the ISA’s information, installations and personnel; Israeli ports and Israeli vessels in foreign ports; and national and internal borders.

Within the ISA, Bergerbest-Eilon held a number of additional positions, including regional security director for Asia and Africa, and counselor and chief of security for the Embassy of Israel in Washington, D.C. He has also advised various government agencies worldwide on counter-terrorism issues and emerging security difficulties. His work during one of Israel's most turbulent periods led to numerous commendations from the Israeli government as well as foreign governments.

“I am pleased to join this global group of experts and newsmakers on APCO’s IAC,” said Bergerbest-Eilon. “I look forward to working with this dynamic team to facilitate strategies and solutions for APCO’s clients worldwide.”

Bergerbest-Eilon joins a distinguished set of expert advisors on the IAC, including former Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski; John Magaw, founding director of the Transportation Security Administration and former director of the U.S. Secret Service; and Richard Allen, former national security adviser to President Reagan.

Bergerbest-Eilon is a member of the Haifa University Board of Trustees, is actively involved in several international security forums and was the founder of the International Physical Security Forum. In May 2005, he was presented with The Director’s Recognition Award, the U.S. Secret Service director’s highest commendation.
