The Challenge
USCS, a print and electronic billing statement company, retained APCO to enhance the corporation's identity within the Sacramento community and position them as an employer of choice and good corporate citizen.
The Solution
APCO developed a year-long public relations plan for USCS. This plan involved media outreach, community relations, corporate philanthropy and communication with educational institutions.
APCO managed the complete implementation of the plan. Activities included creating and unveiling a new corporate tagline, coordinating a media breakfast to reintroduce the company to the Sacramento media, placing opinion editorials, generating news articles and conducting community relations on the company's behalf.
The Result
USCS was named as the Sacramento region's most admired company and became the "go to" source on stories related to Sacramento's local economy, human resources and corporate philanthropy for major media outlets in the region. USCS also won numerous awards for community involvement, recycling and human resources, and was named one of the "200 Best Small Companies in America" by Forbes Magazine.

USCS enjoyed a measurable increase in positive news coverage related to the campaign objectives. More than 65 stories in local print and electronic media were generated over the course of the campaign.
APCO received the International Association of Business Communications "Crystal Award of Excellence" for best overall public relations campaign as a result of its efforts on behalf of USCS.
