Billing Manager
Washington, D.C.

APCO Worldwide, a global communication consulting firm, is seeking a Billing Manager to join the accounting team. The Billing Manager is responsible for overseeing all client billing for assigned offices to include: supervising billing staff; ensuring client budgets are updated monthly to reflect remaining balances; reviewing and posting billing weekly; resolving client billing issues; working closely with account groups to track and forecast projects; ensuring the billing is completed by month-end; reviewing client statements for accuracy and ensure revision by the 15th each month and ensure client/project lists are set up correctly.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business with 7+ years relevant experience in a related field that includes supervisory and prior billing experience; advanced skills with Excel and computerized accounting applications, preferably Solomon/Dynamics; good verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate well with co-workers and account managers; the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively; the ability to review processes and provide recommendations for improvement and the proven ability to work well with others in a team environment; positive, flexible attitude that will lend itself to client service.

Business Finance Manager

APCO Worldwide, a global consulting firm headquartered in Washington, D.C., has an immediate opening for an experienced Business Finance Manager to partner with project managers to ensure the sound financial management and profitability of client projects. Responsibilities include the following: plan, track and analyze financial data to assist in the management of client work; assist in preparation, tracking, and administration of client project budgets; prepare reports for project managers, management and clients on project budgets, employee utilization/realization, profitability, etc.; track and seek resolution of aged receivables for outstanding project invoices; where necessary, assist with collection efforts; and assist with proposals and the development of contracts; negotiate client contracts and budgets.

Qualified candidates will have a BS degree or equivalent work experience and a minimum of five years experience in finance and accounting that includes project related financial support. Experience with project pricing and scheduling desired. Candidate must be proficient with MS Office. Business Operations Coordinator
Washington, D.C.

The business operations coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting the day-to-day business and administrative operations for APCO’s in-house opinion research team, APCO Insight. Serve as a liaison to finance team and manage the team’s financial processes to include: assist in preparation and tracking of project and department budgets; process check requests and ensure accurate and timely payment to Insight’s vendors; assist with and facilitate monthly billing of clients; manage databases to assist in vendor management, accounting, business development efforts and revenue reporting. Facilitate contract development in conjunction with legal and finance staff. Provide executive level administrative support to the head of Insight which includes schedule management, arranging travel, and time/expense reporting.

A successful candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of senior/executive level administrative or office management experience that includes fiscal responsibilities, excellent communication and customer service skills and ability to multi-task. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required.
