APCO Expands Washington, D.C., Issues Management Expertise

Washington, D.C. (March 2, 2010) - Lisa Carr, co-founder of communication consulting firm Nine Dot Strategies, joins APCO Worldwide's Washington, D.C., office as a vice president in APCO's issues management practice, Robert Schooling, the office's managing director, announced today.

"Lisa brings to our firm 15 years of experience in managing corporate, coalition and nonprofit groups and leading multi-faceted consumer education and strategic philanthropy campaigns," said Schooling. "Her comprehensive issues management expertise and knowledge of the public policy and advocacy environment will be a valuable asset to our clients around the world."

Carr was co-founder and executive vice president at Nine Dot Strategies, an independent communication consulting firm based in Washington, D.C., representing corporate, trade association and nonprofit clients.

Prior to her work at Nine Dot Strategies, Carr was at Atlantic Media Company, where she served as the chief of staff for Atlantic Live, the company's live events division, supervising the development and execution of more than 100 events per year. She was also a senior vice president at Powell Tate | Weber Shandwick, where she co-managed many of the office's largest accounts.

Carr began her career as a legislative director for Rep. John Conyers, Jr. (D-Mich).
